UKCarserv Website

Founded in 2009, UKcarserv offer their own unique service to motorists across the UK.

By utilising UKCarserv’s national network of over 400 approved garages, everyday motorists can save up to 60% compared to main dealer prices.

Their innovative service is the brainchild of Managing Director John Hulme who has been aggrieved at the high car servicing prices he has repeatedly paid for years.

The Project:

After rigorously researching their idea and building their network of approved garages, the UKCarserv team started the unenviable task of searching for a web design company that could fulfill their objectives and create a modern yet easy to use website that was stable and not too image/content heavy.

Project Objectives:

• Create a brand new website with visual appeal.
• Convey several pages of information whilst keeping viewers interested and browsing from page to page.
• Create a consistent theme/branding between the new website and corporate fonts/colours and develop a new logo.
• Ensure the new website is cross-browser compatible.
• Ensure load times are kept to a minimum by minimising image sizes and locating fast servers to host the website.
• Prepare the website for Google Adwords.

Strategy:

Expedient Design commenced work on the UKCarserv project in April 2009, implementing the agreed contract objectives in May 2009.

It was our job to present clearly and concisely to UKCarserv, giving them all of the information required, assisting them to make an informed decision to maximise their return on investment and to streamline their business processes.

We would also handle the installation and configuration of the new website on our hosting servers. Our in-house hosting support gave us an advantage over our competitors.

The Solution:

As a forward thinking, yet practical company we looked at various different languages, and decided the best solution would be a standard HTML website with a few pages of PHP which were custom scripted for the bookings pages and submission form. The images were all prepared in Adobe Photoshop/Fireworks and optimised to reduce file sizes.

After submitting several different ‘draft’ design ideas to the UKCarserv team, we received excellent feedback for one of the designs which later evolved and improved to be the design published on the website today.

Although a slow process, the website is slowly climbing up the search engine rankings, and our suggested Google Adwords strategy has certainly assisted UKCarserv in increasing traffic to the website and converting that traffic into business.
